HISTORY
Paradise lost, just a block away from where World War I began.
The creative spirit thrives thru art in the recovering war torn Sarajevo.
A sense of hope and optimism as Sarajevo recovers.

On the streets of war-torn Sarajevo artists protested the loss of human life by spreading red paint into mortar-round indentations that pitted the sidewalks of their wasted town. The result was a city sprinkled with what looked like red roses. The artists had taken a horrible reminder of war and created a remarkable vision for peace. It was a sight artist JulieVerschoyle will never forget.

The native Texan was then inspired to conceive an organization that sought to make art a vehicle for international understanding. As a long-time community volunteer and educational advocate for special-needs children, Verschoyle knows art is a unique way to heal the wounds of war and bring the world together in a vision of peace. By opening up new avenues for artists to show their peace-oriented work and creating conduits for international dialogue, Project Palette fosters global peace through creative expression.
